Description

Speedies usually breaks as a seperate peak about 3/4 along the point at G-Land. It is another very steep takeoff that can be very hard to get into- even on smaller days-take a longer, thicker board. It gets super shallow (knee to waist deep), with world-class barrels. This wave is where most serious injuries occur at G-Land, as the reef on low tide is beyond critical. Fast and very powerful, jacking and pitching onto very shallow reef, with the roundest, loudest barrels you will probably ever see, but they can be perfect. Can be truly frightening on bigger days (as with all of G-Land, but here there is nowhere to go but onto super shallow reef). On some days it links up with previous sections. Probably best at 3 to 6 feet, but it can handle more, for experts only. There are strong currents that change with the tide and size of swell. On high tide there are less currents, but there is always some sweep along the point. Good intermediates to experts only. The further you go down the point, the shallower the reef becomes. Low tide is way too shallow for most people.
