I will be there doing Tsunami relief with my company from 12-20 aug 2005. A few of us surf and were wondering if there is sufing near Khao Lak and if we can rent boards near there.

Hey i just got back a few weeks ago i stayed in khao lak at the merlin i was there for tsunami relief also i saw a lot of swell but nothing really breaking in the area.It is still not back into the swing of things so there are no board rentals but i know of a spot to surf if you take a little drive to Ban-Nam-Kem and drive along the main street there, there is a ferry driving to an island right across and if you look toward the ocean there you will see a year-round sandbar that at low tide breaks a long hollow right |
