Franco's Beach Break (Sierra Leone)« on: December 10 2008 07:12:00 »
A nice maximum 2 foot left hand beach break peeling of a small rocky head land at the mouth of an even smaller channel entrance to an estuary lagoon. I surfed this place on 8 Dec 2008 and while the waves lacked punch the treat was that it was uncrowded, the water was pristine and the location very scenic. The spot is out the front of Franco's Resort which is a classic off the beaten track accomodation and restaurant facility popular with NGOs and serves excellent grilled lobster and cold beer.

Well, lately we had very nice waves at Franco's. Some 3-5 feet, the only problem was the stream. It is so strong that we can surf only during the low tide. during the high tide we need to fight constatly to avoid to be suck from the line up! It is nice, but somehow very tiring!
