Anyone been to a united surf camp?
Want to go to a surf camp in Portugal and want some feedback before booking with United surf camp

I went 'with' them: Mistake.
-I thought they own and run the camps, wrong! They have never even been to the camps they offer.
As a result they miss sold the holiday to me.
- Book with the camps directly, at least they can answer your questions properly, and they are cheaper, since United surf camps charges commisions and adds % on top of the prices.

Your choice depends a lot of what you want. If you want big crowds so that you can party a lot, then look for camps in Algarve or Peniche. If you want something more relaxed with some real surfing try Figueira da Foz.
Before booking go to www.surfingportugal.com (Portuguese Surfing Federation). If the camp is not on they're list (Escolas de surf) then it is not certified by the FPS and most likely not even licenced. That can't be good!! Every day I see posts of people asking what is good or not, but I've never seen any one asking if the camps are actually licenced and certified to teach! ! Strange way to make choices.

Portuguese surfing federation is a "pot". Pot is a portuguese expression that express the idea something exists only for some people take benefit €. The thing people should worry about to check is TURISMO DE PORTUGAL. All the certified schools are there.Sorry Gil, but you can use your diploma in the toilet.ahahhh
Hang loose bro

We are very sorry to read that you have been unsatisfied with a surfing vacation provided by us.
We would like to come in contact with you to further understand why you are not satisfied and see if we can compensate you somehow. United Surf Camps is a network of high quality surf camps which are frequently visited and evaluated. The pricing policy is that it is the same price of booking a stay independent of how the booking is made. Based on the comment you left there seem to have been some misunderstanding which we would like to investigate further.
Please send and e-mail directly to our [email protected] adress and we can set up an interview.
all the best,

Kit , how often does United Surf Camps visit any of the 27 surf camp destinations you offer to ensure quality control?
Also I must say that your website tries to give the impression that they are owned by United Surf camp, since you speak of 'our surf camps'
