Surfing in October Surfing Portugal

Hey me and my friend are looking to head to prtugal for a week to learn to surf but dont know the best spots to go for the time of year. If anyone could give me any ideas would be great. If there was any nightlife or any other adventure things nearby would be a bonus aswell :-D

especially in october, we receive this year the great international event : Rip Curl Pro Search (19 october- 30 october) on the spot of Supertubos.

I have been in Portugal this year around and the best place that I stayed it was in Ericeira.

I stayed in a very nice surf camp, the people are great, helpful and has a lot services as: Surfborads and wetsuits rental, airport transfers.

I'm staying in santa cruz, they also have transfer for the contest. My friends have been there and they say it's pretty cool, no crowd, good waves and cheap prices
