The best area in the Bahia de Banderas is to the north, on the Punta de Mita. I used to work for Palladium resort and surfed Punta Burros often. That spot is in front of the resort. If there is a swell coming from the north or west then Punta de Mita break near the Four Seasons is also nice. Sayulita to the north of the peninsula has a few surf shops and more surf culture but not the best waves. Go two hours or so north of that and you hit some nice spots like platanitos, stoners, etc. Best of luck. |

HEy, i am going to Palladium in 10 sleeps, what boards are the best to use on Puta Burro? not sure of what type of wave it is. I am so pumped, can't wait to be there. Anything else you can say about anything close to the resort |

Burros has a good right that is pretty consistent. I've seen it big and small. I was just there for ten days and each day there were long boards and short boards. Pretty crowded Sundays (15 boards is crowded there) as the local Mexican workers who surf have their day off for the week. Otherwise, not too crowded. The point is best, but there are at least two other peaks that work and there are usually none to two surfers on the other peaks. And that is only when the point is crowded. Burros is probably not best for real beginners. Intermediate and above. |
