Surfing potentiel in Sao Tome Surfing Gabon

I will be very interesting to have any information about Surfing spot in Sao Tome.
I think this place have a very important possibility
of spots.
The cost is volcaonic and the island is perfectly located for any swell.
So i'm open for a trip

It´s very inconsistent from october to may. Hardly any waves during this period of time i think.Anyway, i have checked the ww3 forecast and it shows good swells manly during august. if there´s swell you´ll find world class surf for sure with no one in the line up.

and be prepared for a lot of adventure. 4x4 cars are expensive, and good acomodation in hotes too. the people is great and it´s really beautiful place. Go in august and you ll find dozens of uncrowded surf spots . Go with a group of at least for people.

Yes i surfed there. I didn´t get the a lot of waves cause i went in the wrong season but i know that it breaks in July and August and that the waves are perfect and uncrowded. SurfPortugal magazine did a report on the island a couple of years ago so i know there´s perfect surf there. i intend to go again in years to come.  If you want more info contact me via E-mail...

to surf Sao Tome you have to get south groundswell...14s or more. It is produced in the Southern winter=European Summer. So it is going on right now... check the swell period for the South Atlantic... caga in the traditional forecast... look for high periods... just like Mexico

there is good surf in sao tome, though inconsistent.  i recently made the documentary, "the lost wave: an african surf story" about surfing there.  check out right point at 'voice of america' radio station, lefts on ille de rolas, and the indigenous surf village nearby.  great place to stay is san jao de angolares - very nice plantation hotel.
